What is Performance Management?

Employee Performance Management is aligning organizational objectives with employees’ skills, competency requirements, development plans, and measured results. Emphasizing on improvement, and learning and development in order to achieve the overall business strategy to create a high performing workforce. Performance management is more than an annual appraisal meeting, as it’s the managers responsibility to continuously communicate expectations, define duties, and help their employees accomplish strategic objectives. Managing employee performance deals with an organization’s strategy, policy and practices with respect to establishing performance expectations for its employees, along with measuring and monitoring the results.

The HR department is key to efficient administration of the performance management system, and having an educated HR team that is well-prepared to train the organization’s managers and to assist them when issues arise is critical.
